The Novita Children's Services (formerly The Crippled Children's Association of SA Inc) was incorporated in 1939, providing care to children affected by the polio epidemic through the support of the State Government of South Australia. |
Today, as a community-based, not-for-profit organisation, Novita provides services to over 1,000 South Australian children and young people aged from birth to 18 years with physical and / or severe multiple disabilities and their families. Through its work, Novita aims to provide opportunities that enable clients to become fully participating members of the community.
In meeting the needs of our clients, Novita delivers a range of services and programmes including:
- Children's Therapy Services: Novita has adopted a family-centred practice approach to service delivery. We utilise a regional network to deliver physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology and psychology services to clients living in metropolitan and regional South Australia.
- NovitaTech (formerly Regency Park Rehabilitation Engineering): NovitaTech is the equipment division of Novita Children's Services, assisting clients and others with disabilities to lead more satisfying lives through the use of technology. We also offer Australia's only accredited Equipment Testing and Design Laboratory.
- Family Support Services: our Options Coordinators assist families with a range of family support services including respite care, home help and counselling.
- Clinical Research: we are proud of our reputation for undertaking clinical and developmental research to improve the quality of life for our clients.
